Introducing Session Replays, integrated into Heap's analytics platform!
You probably know what session replays are: precise recreations of what specific users did within the digital experiences you’ve built. By tracking a user’s mouse movements, scrolling, clicks, and keyboard strokes, a session replay lets you see what that customer sees, so you can identify and reproduce any situation where they encounter friction.
And you probably also know that as useful as this capability is, it can be a big pain to engage with it. With typical third-party tools, you have to watch replays one at a time, then manually correlate events with recordings. This takes forever! And when you do find something useful, it’s almost impossible to know how widespread it is.
Wouldn't it be great if somebody found a way to make session replays more intuitive and easy to use? We thought so, too. That’s why today we’re announcing Heap’s new session replay capabilities, which are fully integrated into all of our critical analytics modules. Even our Heap Illuminate tools like Funnel Analysis, Effort Analysis, and Top Events.
Unlike other session replay tools, with Heap your sessions are cued to the exact moments you want to know more about. Building a funnel? Defining an event? Top Events showing you important moments of friction? In Heap, just click and you can see endless sessions, all cued exactly to that event.
No one has ever done this before! (We can't believe it, either.)
When your qualitative informs your quantitative analysis, and vice versa, you have insanely powerful ways to understand what's happening on your site or product. Data analysts can literally walk in the user’s shoes within the digital experience to understand the “why” behind the “what.”
For example, let's say you have a large volume of users abandoning their carts. Measuring drop-off and bounce rates will give you a feel for the size of the problem. But quantitative tools can never tell you why users are dropping off, or what the fix should be. With a Session Replay, you will see the friction that’s actually tripping users up—a broken CTA, phantom button, confusing design flow, etc. It’s this rich detail that makes information truly actionable..
Imagine how much time this saves teams!
Session replays are like a superpower for digital teams across the organization who are tasked with making things easier and more intuitive for users:
App builders can watch users scroll, click and interact with site elements, and see where they get confused, lost or stuck.
Dev teams can find bugs and fix them quickly without waiting for them to surface.
Customer satisfaction teams can address user issues without having to ask customers to explain the problem.
Marketing and sales teams can view actual navigation paths of features and funnels and test new offers and features.
With session replays, you can see for yourself what users are looking for and whether they can find it easily. (And maybe most important, see where they are NOT finding what they need.) It’s literally the next best thing to being right there.
We’ll say it again—having replays integrated with data is a big deal!
All that extra context is meaningless if it’s not easy to understand. Heap starts you out with a complete and trustworthy dataset, then offers complementary quant and qual capabilities within our Digital Insights platform. You can gain the full picture of every issue, and then get as granular as you want to.
Give our session replays a try. We think you’ll find them endlessly useful in improving your products and experiences—as well as your bottom line.
