Head of People


Heap is hiring a Head of People. We are a 120-person startup based in San Francisco powering analytics for thousands of companies. In 2018, Heap was named #1 on Glassdoor’s list of Best Places to Work for small-to-medium sized businesses. We’re looking for a Head of People who can help us continue to make Heap an amazing place to work and also help us scale nearly 2x year-over-year. As Head of People, you will be responsible for the People Operations and Recruiting teams (about 7 people today and growing quickly).


At Heap, this means you will: 

  • Be a trusted advocate for all Heap employees
  • Take a metrics-oriented, data-driven approach to managing the recruiting process
  • Build a comprehensive recruiting strategy that encompasses direct sourcing, referrals, inbound candidates, and more
  • Help us give candidates a world-class experience no matter what the outcome of their interview process
  • Enhance our onboarding process to make sure candidates have amazing introduction to a great career at Heap
  • Work with the leadership team to design a compensation and career structure that attracts and retains great people
  • Maintain a competitive and differentiated benefits program and continually reassess our benefits as we grow
  • Build and maintain our HR infrastructure (policies, processes, systems)
  • Create more extensive career development and training programs for our employees and help continue our history of promoting heavily from within
  • Oversee our office staff and ensure a consistent experience across all our offices (San Francisco, Salt Lake City, New York, and several individual remote employees around the world)


What we're looking for: 

  • Experience leading teams of 10 or more people
  • Experience in both People Operations and Recruiting functions
  • Excitement about joining a startup that’s still figuring things out
